On Monday, a horrific shooting in Boulder, Colorado supermarket stunned Americans, who were seeking for answers about how such a terribly atrocity could occur.
While the media speculated about who must have killed ten innocent people, some people were led to believe it must be a “white supremacist.” Now we have the news that this is highly unlikely.
“Police have identified the suspect in the Boulder, Colo., shooting as Ahmad Alissa,” the New York Daily News reported. “The 21-year-old is charged with 10 counts of murder in the first degree in connection with the Monday afternoon shooting at the King Sooper supermarket, police said Tuesday at a press conference.”
“The gunman opened fire at the King Soopers supermarket in Boulder between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. local time Monday,” the Daily News report continued. “Officer Eric Talley, 51, of the Boulder Police Department, who was responding to the shooting, was among the 10 people killed. The suspect was injured and taken into custody.”
“I wish I could stand here and promise that pain will heal quickly,” Colorado Gov. Jared Polis said during a Tuesday press conference. “But it won’t… At times like this, it’s hard to see the light that shines through the darkness.”
“Not only did we lose ten lives, this is real horror and terror,” he added.
This is breaking news. It will be updated as more information is forthcoming.
