Park Police moved in with riot gear and pepper spray in a display of force that forced back the crowd. D.C. Metro police also assisted forcing the rioters out of the park. Trump warned the group of vandals that they faced ten years in prison. “I have authorized the Federal Government to arrest anyone who vandalizes or destroys any monument, statue or other such Federal property in the U.S. with up to 10 years in prison, per the Veteran’s Memorial Preservation Act,” he wrote.
