The Washington Post’s “fact checker” Glenn Kessler is throwing up his hands at compiling Biden’s dubious claims beyond the 100-day honeymoon period.
“Here’s the Biden database — which we do not plan to extend beyond 100 days,” Kessler tweeted. “I have learned my lesson.”
“Maintaining the Trump database over four years required about 400 additional 8-hour days over four years beyond our regular jobs for three people,” Kessler continued. “Biden is off to a relatively slow start but who knows what will happen. We will keep doing fact checks, just not a database.”
Kessler is thus throwing in the towel on maintaining a presidential database due to a supposed lack of content, meanwhile claiming that the workload is demanding.
WaPo is not the only one slacking on its fact-checking duties due to the new administration being a Democrat. Politifact has a grand total of two fact checks so far on Biden:
“If we kept (the minimum wage) indexed to inflation, people would be making $20 an hour right now.” (Politifact: False)
“We’re sending back the vast majority of the families that are coming.” (Politifact: False)
CNN is also running cover for President Biden. Instead of fact-checking his claims with an impartial eye, the network’s editors felt compelled to compare his track record to Trump’s with a kid-glove ‘fact check‘ in February.
“President Joe Biden was more consistently factual in his first month in office than his predecessor ever was in office. But Biden was not perfect himself,” CNN said.
“Biden was not remotely comparable to former President Donald Trump in either the quantity of his false claims or in the magnitude,” CNN droned on. “He did, however, make some inaccurate comments, mostly when ad-libbing. For example, Biden made at least six false claims at a CNN town hall event last week.”
The numerous statements being floated on everything from COVID to climate change to the economy to jobs creation demand scrutiny. Liberal “fact checkers” are unwilling to give it.
This all adds up to the conclusion that the “fact checking” industry is nothing more than “narrative checking” to maintain left-wing bias.
