Annually awarded to a student who has written the best paper related to private international law. This essay can be written as part of a course or seminar, independent study project or graduate class paper; preference given to those enrolled in the LL.M. degree program in international law; this prize is named in memory of Addison Brown LL.B 1855 and funded by the Foundation.
Sidney Cox set high literary merit and originality standards when teaching and writing on literature. Books nominated may either be fiction or nonfiction in English language and students can nominate any undergraduate writing written in this language for nomination.
Named in honor of Dr. Sidney Louis Wagman ’51, this prize recognizes students who have demonstrated devotion to high ideals and made significant contributions to their communities. Nominations can come from students themselves or anyone else within their community – this award does not need to come from HLS; anyone can nominate.
Presented in partnership with the City of Sydney, this prize honours an emerging NSW-based creative working in short film. It comes with a cash prize of $10,000.

This annual prize, presented by the Trustees of Sidney Myer Fund, seeks to recognize excellence in Australian arts. A panel comprising internationally-recognized artists, critics and academics assess submissions before selecting one as the winner; then Dinosaur Designs handcrafts mesmeric swirl awards to each.
2024 winners include an eclectic group of writers that use writing as a medium for exploring contemporary Australian society through ideas and themes relevant to history, novels, memoirs and poetry. Authors range from historians, novelists, memoirists and poets. Judges for this year’s prize included Danis Tanovic (Director, Melbourne International Film Festival), James Bradley (director of IFAW’s Documentary Australia) and Helen Marcou AM.
