Joe Biden recently made waves by making ‘Juneteenth,’ the day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, a federal holiday.
It marks the banning of the abominable institution on June 19, 1865, when Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3, which accorded with the Emancipation Proclamation pronouncing that “all slaves are free.” The 13th Amendment would be ratified months later, thereby abolishing slavery throughout the nation.
The current president Joe Biden, however, had a different “interpretation” of what Juneteeth meant before his staffers presumably informed him about it shortly before he signed legislation in 2021 making it a federal holiday.
This is what he said it meant in 2020. Watch:
“He’s going down to Texas on Juneteenth, right? The first major massacre, literally speaking, of the Black Wall Street, right?” Biden asked.
No, Joe. Juneteenth is not the holiday marking the Tulsa Race Massacre. That occurred on May 31, 1921.
Biden may have mixed up the dates in part because of his motive to make a holiday that should be celebrating the abolition of slavery in America into yet another way to besmirch the nation in perpetuity.

On Thursday, Biden called Juneteenth said the new federal holiday is “a day in which we remember the moral stain and the terrible toll that slavery took on the country—and continues to take.”
This is the exact opposite of what Juneteenth should represent. It is why Americans can’t trust Democrats. A day when the Republican Party fought to end slavery is framed by Biden as a “moral stain” on the country in perpetuity.
The federal holiday prompted controversial remarks by conservative pundits, undoubtedly because comments by Democrats like Joe Biden undermine trust that the federal holiday is simply about celebrating America’s ending of slavery.
Charlie Kirk wrote:
Making Juneteenth a federal holiday isn’t about emancipation of slaves. If it was—they would make September 22nd, Emancipation Proclamation Day, a federal holiday
This is about replacing July 4th—just like the 1619 Project is about replacing 1776
Conservatives must reject this.

Candace Owens said:
Juneteenth is soooo lame.
Democrats really need to stop trying to repackage segregation.
I’ll be celebrating July 4th and July 4th only.
I’m American. 🇺🇸

It’s understandable that these conservative pundits would be suspicious about the Juneteenth holiday. But not everything needs to be shot through the Woke prism. Slavery was bad. Ending slavery was good. A Juneteenth federal holiday may ultimately prove to be a unifying thing. There is no need to feed undue suspicion about racism by being a reactionary. Even Donald Trump supported Juneteenth before Joe Biden stole his idea.
President Trump supported making Juneteenth a holiday.
This is just another idea Joe Biden stole from President Trump.

It turns out that Joe Biden didn’t even know what Juneteenth was before his handlers told him. Donald Trump, once again, was ahead of his time in suggesting it become a federal holiday.
